Support Scalpel Redirects - Why the Tools Are Free
Scalpel Redirects is free to use, with no ads, no tracking, and no paid tier. The only donation surface is a single button in settings, and it is entirely optional. A donation helps fund more free tools in the same family.
Why it matters
Plenty of "free" extensions earn their keep by selling your browsing data or nagging you toward a paid plan. Scalpel Redirects does neither. It makes no network requests of its own, keeps everything in session memory (gone when you close the browser), and never gates a feature behind a paywall.
The donate button sits quietly in settings. It's not a nag, not a popup, and not a dark pattern. The extension works exactly the same whether or not you ever click it. We ask because we think the work is worth supporting, and because we'd rather be honest about that than pretend it's magic.
What stays free
Every feature is included. When you click the "Copy HAR" button, it works. The side panel opens. The right-click menu appears. The waterfall visualises the chain. None of that is locked behind a "pro" plan or a paywall.
No telemetry. The extension doesn't report where you go, what you click, or whether you use it at all. The only network request it makes is the one you see: opening the side panel, it fetches documentation from scalpellabs.ai. That's it.
No tracking pixels. No third-party scripts. No ads. The popup is purely yours.
Where the donation goes
A donation funds the next free tool in the same suite. Scalpel Labs builds open tools for developers: this redirect inspector, the technology-stack detector, and others. A donation lets us keep building without forcing a paywall or a subscription.
There's no corporate backing and no investment pressure to monetise. The project lives or dies on voluntary support. We think that's honest, and we're betting you do too.
How Scalpel Redirects shows it
In the settings panel (the gear icon in the header), you'll see a short pitch and a "Donate" button. That's it. The button links to the donation page on scalpellabs.ai, where you can choose an amount or skip it entirely. The footer carries a subtle "Powered by Scalpel Labs" link to the project home.
Toggling a right-click menu action or adjusting any other setting won't show a upsell or a banner. Everything works the same, with or without a donation.
We think tools that don't nag are rarer than they should be. This one isn't going to change that.
